On November 17, 2025, Russia’s first universal, multi-level certification testing system for assessing English-language proficiency for business and academic communication—Linguatest SCT—marked its third anniversary. The system was developed and is implemented by HSE University in partnership with the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosakkredagentstvo and the Prosveshcheniye Publishing House. The test can be taken in person at centres in Moscow or Khabarovsk, or online from anywhere in the world.

The HSE University Faculty of Computer Science has hosted the third Techarena Challenge competition and the HSE Techarena Training Camp. More than 130 teams from Russian and international universities took part, competing to solve an optimisation problem. The on-site round, which was scored individually, lasted four hours.

On November 9, 2025, the HSE CS × BRICS Ideathon—a large-scale intensive event for students aimed at developing international project skills and finding solutions to current challenges facing BRICS countries—took place at HSE University’s Pokrovsky Bulvar campus. The event was organised by the Multilateral Strategic Projects Office with the support of the BRICS Expert Council–Russia , the Faculty of Computer Science (FCS), and the HSE FCS Hackathon Club

Representatives of HSE University-St Petersburg were the only participants from Russia at the large-scale event, which gathered delegates from more than 20 countries at Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna hosted the Archival Impulse Summer School, co-organised by JINR physicists, historians from the HSE Faculty of Humanities, and staff from the Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ARAS). This first archival summer school continued the joint initiative of HSE University and JINR to examine and preserve the unique historical legacy of physicists.

Doing business in China today requires expertise in the specifics of national culture, business ethics, and sanctions risks. HSE's Eastern Perspective continuing education programmes, which feature the involvement of leading experts and businesspeople, provide the knowledge and skills needed to enter and work successfully in the Chinese market. HSE University recently hosted a conference on doing business with China.

From August 20–23, 2025, the Artek International Children’s Centre (Crimea, Russia) hosted an off-site session of HSE University’s educational and outreach project BRICS International School: New Generation. The school was the first event to take place under the cooperation agreement signed this year between HSE University and Artek.

The XII Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations has opened at HSE University. This year’s theme is ‘Facets of the World Majority: Practice and Narratives.’ The school has brought together 27 master's and doctoral students as well as early-career researchers from leading universities in China and Russia.

The Changellenge career platform has summarised the results of the largest case championships of the 2024/25 season, presenting an updated ranking of universities according to their level of practical orientation. HSE University was announced as the overall winner.
