The 10th Demo Day of the Joint HSE & VK Engineering and Mathematics School was held at the VK Moscow office. Students of the three workshops presented the results of 13 projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, information security, and digital platforms. Students worked on the development of recommendation services, systems for psycholinguistic text analysis and speech processing, methods for identifying celebrities in videos, algorithms for determining the toxicity of memes, security mechanisms for AI systems, and approaches to improving the effectiveness of neural network models.

How are universities, vocational education systems, and researcher training programmes evolving in response to new challenges? These questions were at the heart of the international forum ‘Reconfiguring Education in a Changing World: Russia–China Dialogues on Higher Education, Skills, and Research Training’, held in China in mid-June. The event was jointly organised by the HSE Institute of Education and the Graduate School of Education of Peking University, which hosted the forum on its campus.

On June 20, HSE University begins accepting applications for the new Bachelor's Programme in Technology Innovation Management at the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The programme aims to train specialists capable of managing technology projects at every stage, from testing ideas and validating hypotheses to implementing solutions and bringing products to market.

Students of the HSE University Faculty of Computer Science continue their winning streak at various sports programming competitions. They secured three first-place finishes and other accolades at events held in the spring of 2026.

At the end of May, HSE University in Moscow received a delegation from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), which has held a strong, long-standing partnership with HSE. The meeting in Moscow took place as part of the International Partner Week, which was held from May 19 to 22 by HSE University–St Petersburg. The event was attended by Unicamp representatives: Rafael Dias, Director of International Affairs, and Milena Serafim, Associate Director of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

The second Indo-Russian Education Summit (IRES 2026) took place in New Delhi on May 28–29. This year, the event brought together more than 70 leading Russian and Indian universities. Representatives from HSE University’s Moscow and St Petersburg campuses introduced prospective students to the university’s educational opportunities at the exhibition and shared their experience in developing Russian–Indian academic cooperation.

Recently, an HSE delegation led by Rector Nikita Anisimov visited China. During the visit, the parties reached agreements to expand the portfolio of joint educational and research projects with some of the country’s leading universities. Forbes Education has published its ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the strongest reputations among employers. As in recent years, HSE University secured first place with a reputation index of 98 points. In addition, 67.2% of employers stated that they trust the quality of education provided by HSE University, an increase of three percentage points compared with last year.

Unmanned vehicles, courier robots, and smart speakers are rapidly becoming a part of our lives. In 2026, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science opens its new Bachelor’s Programme ‘Design of Intelligent Robotic Systems’ (DIRS). It will train specialists at the intersection of IT, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Academic Supervisor of DIRS Vadim Morgachev explains how studies are organised and why graduates of the programme ‘will definitely be accepted into the future.’

It is not easy to get university graduates and students interested in living and working in Kamchatka, a remote region with harsh natural conditions and an extreme climate. Mirror Laboratories, a joint project of the HSE Institute of Education and Kamchatka State University (KamGU), encourages the development of ‘explorer’ competencies and the modernisation of the region’s education system.
