‘Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030’ Forum-Festival to Feature Innovative Projects from HSE Graduates
Until September 14, 2025, the Russian capital is hosting a large-scale forum-festival called ‘Territory of the Future: Moscow 2030’ —a space for technology, science, and innovation. This event showcases cutting-edge developments in medicine, astronautics, and the digital economy. HSE Art and Design School is participating in the festival with two graduate projects in Product and Industrial Design.

In July 2025, Peking University hosted its annual Quantum Molecular Dynamics Summer School, which has moved onto an international stage. Its first foreign guests were students and postgraduates from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). They took part in an extensive academic programme and had the opportunity to visit a laboratory that works with optoelectronic materials and energy devices.

The first international joint summer school of the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism (GSU) at both the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development and Brest State Pushkin University (BrSU), hosted by BrSU, has come to a close. The programme focused on studying buffer zones along the railway lines encircling the city centre. Participants included students from the GSU’s Urban Planning degree programme, as well as students from BrSU and Brest State Technical University.

The final of the Russian Competitive Programming Cup in the Algorithmic Programming discipline has taken place. Seven students and one lecturer from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science took part in the event. Bachelor’s students from the Applied Mathematics and Information Science programme claimed the top three places.

HSE Students Win Gold Medals at International Mathematical Olympiad in Ashgabat
The 5th Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students (OMOUS-2025) took place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, attracting teams from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Iran, Romania, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and India. In total, around 500 students took part in the event.

HSE Tops University Ranking at X5 Tech Sprint Programming Championship
The X5 Tech Sprint is a championship in algorithmic programming. A total of 808 school pupils and university students from over 200 educational institutions across Moscow took part. HSE ranked first among universities in the overall participant leaderboard, and a student from the Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) achieved the best individual result.

A new expedition season has begun as part of the Rediscovering Russia project. Students from all degree programmes, disciplines, and campuses of HSE University are eligible to take part. League of Robot Runners: HSE Team Wins International Competition
A team of students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, led by Anton Andreychuk, a researcher from the AIRI Institute, won first place in all categories of the international League of Robot Runners competition. This contest for developers focuses on advancing research in multi-agent pathfinding (MAPF) and AI-based task distribution systems for large warehouses.
