On September 12, 2025, a new Sber classroom was unveiled at HSE’s Pokrovsky Bulvar campus. The venue will host lectures and project seminars, and in their free time, students will be able to use it as a co-working area or as a platform for their own events—from film screenings to intellectual debates.
The final stage of the 5th International Olympiad on Financial Security took place at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk from September 29 to October 3. The event brought together 600 students from schools and universities from 40 different countries. The Higher School of Economics was represented at all three levels of the Olympiad: competition, expert, and career guidance.

Scientists at the HSE Centre for Language and Brain have identified key factors that increase the effectiveness of mobile and computer-based applications for aphasia rehabilitation. These key factors include automated feedback, a variety of tasks within the application, extended treatment duration, and ongoing interaction between the user and the clinician. HSE University's Centre for Language and Brain has developed the first standardised tool for assessing Russian reading skills in adults—the LexiMetr-A test. The test is now available digitally on the RuStore platform. This application allows for a quick and effective diagnosis of reading disorders, including dyslexia, in people aged 18 and older.
The HSE Centre for Language and Brain conducted a course on tractography, a method that enables visualisation of key brain connections and helps surgeons avoid damaging language-critical areas during surgery. The course was attended by neurosurgeons and radiologists from Moscow and other Russian regions who are interested in methods of preoperative language mapping.
The application of mathematical models to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases contributes to the effective detection of patient predispositions and supports the selection of best treatment strategies. The use of mathematical models helps create new diagnostic tools and train neural networks to assist clinicians.
