The Innovation and Technology Management Conference (InnoTech 2026), organised by Elsevier publishing house in partnership with Tsinghua University, has taken place in Beijing. The event focused on the challenges of managing technological development in the age of artificial intelligence. Olesia Maibakh and Danil Yatskin, researchers from the International Research and Educational Foresight Centre at the HSEInstitute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK), presented the findings of the large-scale foresight study ‘IT in Russia: Development Scenarios’ conducted with the support of Yandex.

On June 19, graduates of the Bachelor's in Computational Social Sciences, launched in 2022, received their at the HSE University's Cultural Centre. All the graduates have completed in-depth training in a social science discipline while developing advanced competencies in data analysis and mathematical modelling.

On June 18, 2026, the laureates of the Award for the Best Human-centred HR Management Practices were honoured at the 26th International Forum HREXPO PRO PEOPLE. HSE University received an award for the creation of daycare playrooms for children of HSE staff and students in the ‘Protection of Life and Well-Being’ category.

HSE University hosted the 13th Summer Neurolinguistics School, organised by the Centre for Language and Brain with support from the HSE Faculty of Humanities. The programme focused on collaboration among neurolinguists, neurosurgeons, and neurophysiologists in the operating room, standardisation of linguistic paradigms, and practical approaches to preserving patients’ language function.

At the end of May, HSE University in Moscow received a delegation from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), which has held a strong, long-standing partnership with HSE. The meeting in Moscow took place as part of the International Partner Week, which was held from May 19 to 22 by HSE University–St Petersburg. The event was attended by Unicamp representatives: Rafael Dias, Director of International Affairs, and Milena Serafim, Associate Director of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

HSE University-St Petersburg hosted the Arab Culture Day. About 100 guests from Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, and other countries got acquainted with the history of the Persian Gulf states, tried on traditional costumes, and tasted Oriental food.

In May 2026, a delegation from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) made an official visit to HSE University. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss new forms of cooperation and partnership and to identify areas of mutual interest. Representatives of HSE’s Moscow, St Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod campuses spoke about their shared interest in expanding joint projects, primarily in the field of artificial intelligence—a strategic development priority for both universities.

HSE University-St Petersburg International Partners' Week continued with the Academic Day. Experts from different countries and researchers from HSE University held more than ten strategic sessions and discussed the ethics of AI use, the development of diplomacy in the age of multipolarity and new formats of university cooperation.

HSE University-St Petersburg continues the tradition of international student exhibition: the first joint initiative of the university and the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (Indonesia) at IPW-2025 gathered more than 100 participants. This year, the finalists of the contest 'Cinema as Cultural Brand' from Russia, France, China, India and Brazil presented their works devoted to visual and communication projects.

It is the third time that HSE University-St Petersburg has become a centre for a global academic dialogue. Dozens of lectures and workshops by researchers from China, Brazil, Mexico, India, Japan, Serbia, Tunisia and other countries: the programme of the HSE St Petersburg International Partners' Week started with the Student Day. The venue for the global academic dialogue was the Rope Shop Educational Space.
