At an international foresight workshop on artificial intelligence held at HSE University, Russian and foreign scholars discussed the trends and challenges arising from the rapid development of AI.

The International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre at HSE University presented the scientific report ‘From Fields to Futures: Competition, Financialisation, and Digitalisation in Global Grain Value Chains.’ The document was prepared as part of expert support from the BRICS Working Group on Competition Research in Food Markets. The presentation took place at the academic conference ‘Emerging Challenges of Competition Law and Policy in the BRICS and Beyond’ on September 12, 2025, in Cape Town (South Africa), which the BRICS Centre organised together with the University of Cape Town on the sidelines of the 9^th BRICS International Competition Conference.

Graduates of the 2025 Master’s programme in Product and Industrial Design at HSE Art and Design School presented the first Russian autonomous flying robot, Belka, and medical equipment designed for disinfecting donated blood, Ance. On September 1, 2025, Rector Nikita Anisimov visited the HSE Campus in Perm. During his trip, he took part in the opening ceremony of the new academic year and attended the traditional assembly of the HSE Lyceum in Perm.

Voice assistants have become part of everyday life. They can plan routes, play music and films, and answer questions. But the quality of their speech requires assessment. To address this, students of the Applied Artificial Intelligence Workshop at the HSE University and VK Engineering and Mathematics Schoolhave developed neural networks capable of evaluating speech synthesis.

At the HSE Graduate School of Business (GSB) campus, the joint master’s programme officially launched, accompanied by the opening of the dedicated Avito classroom.

On September 5, 2025, at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), HSE University and Sber signed an agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in economic, financial, and business education between Russia and India, as well as developing continuing education initiatives in both countries (including the implementation of joint, network, and exchange programmes). The agreement was signed by HSE Vice Rector Tatyana Vasilyeva and Sberbank’s First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board Alexander Vedyakhin.
